The Screwtape Letters is going to be at the Baton Rouge River Center Theater on March 14th. If were going to be in town, I would check it out.

I just watched the video and, for me, it highlights that Lewis’ “Law of Human Nature” is Romans 7 in plain English.

We know right from wrong.
We just don’t consistently do right.

Romans 7:15 (NLT): "I don't really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don't do it. Instead, I do what I hate."

That’s not ignorance — that’s brokenness. And that’s why Christianity isn’t just moral advice. It’s redemption.

I don’t know what you exactly intend by “tribal.”

The earliest Christianity is very interesting. It crossed Jewish lines into Gentile spaces, but we also see a weird proclivity towards Greek-based slave communities more than Latin/Roman based. As time progresses into the second century, we see more Romans entering Christian circles.

Sola Scriptura is a concept that has crawled out of the depths of hell and you have all been hoodwinked into believing it. It’s why Christianity has thousands of Protestant denominations.
So let's compare using God's inspired Word as the only infallible source with your own theological practice of "doctrinal development" in the context of Galatians 1...
Seems like we are given pretty clear guidance on that practice which led the Pharisees down the wrong path.
Read the Bible.
(And no, we do not owe that ability to the Church of Rome which murdered people to suppress translations and publication of the Holy Bible so they could control the Word and give their versions of messages.)
Who has reached into a bad place for sketchy doctrine and then forcibly imposed it upon its own believers with their threats of anathema?
About as credible as annointing themselves as the one true church after fighting with the 4 other equal churches over power and doctrine of the Trinity. Then, they had to retroactively promote the previous bishops of Rome to popes in order to sell the whole succession fiction. And then they have glossed over the pope wars, tortures, murders, lapses and when they had up to 3 of them at a time or none at all. Actually dug one's grave up, tried him, convicted him, burned him and scattered his ashes in a river.
Kind of hard to take that apostolic succession claim seriously when you actually look at the history.
But maybe their treatment of the Hussites shows how they displayed their commitment to the love of our Savior by murdering people who brought up some persuasive points...
By the way, if you still wish to look at actual history, William Tyndale would like a moment of your attention...

Meanwhile, I think that I will stay with the actual Word over the fabrications of a self serving bureaucracy.
But ask yourself if a Christ who humbled himself by living in poverty and dying on a cross would willingly be represented by a guy who lives in a golden palace. I find that hard to believe.
