I wonder the same thing but I figure they can hack out what they want. If any of it helps someone it's a glorious thing.

So we're clear, I'm not a female whom you need to run off this website.

It's no good if they wait until she's in the fricking ground. Did she elect to be a donor?

No. But they did hold up my mother body from being release to the funeral home until I confirmed for them to frick off a second time.

You know... In case I changed my mind...

Ditto, but what I'm banking on is that if my organs have survived up to that point, they must be frickin strong. So maybe they'll take those and put them into someone else who has different strong organs, and then that person will donate my organs and their organs to someone else and so on and so on. Eventually, there will be someone out there who will need to overhaul their entire system and that person will get all of the best organs from up the line and therefore become.... SUPERHUMAN

I'm not an organologist but you're making a lot of sense right now. The logic checks out......wonder who the lucky bastard will be.

Yes.

And my wife gave her first cousin a kidney last year. She volunteered immediately after hearing of his kidney failure. She is my hero....

Sure why not. If it can help somebody else live longer somehow I think I will know it.

So I guess you'll be refusing a transplant if ever one of your organs fails then, right?

Yes.

A couple years back my neighbors brother who had been battling Diabetes received a kidney/panvreas transplant from someone who had been shot in the head. Here's his post from FB from a few weeks ago.

quote:

I don't know about you guys but as I get older (not that I consider myself old) i can't help but realize just how fast time seems to be passing by.
I checked my phone this morning and saw that my sister had sent me a message it was a screen shot of her Facebook memories from two years ago.. two years ago her and i standing with each other at the ****** parade. Standing there blind not knowing if I would ever be able to see again. I was suppose to ride in the parade and being on dialysis while waiting on a kidney and pancreas transplant the parade crew made arrangements for me to have a police escort in case I got the call while riding . Except I didn't get to ride... The day before the parade I went to the den to load and prepare my spot. On my way home I noticed my vision getting blurry and after about 10 mins complete darkness. it was the most terrifying and gut wrenching feeling losing my vision. On April 21 the day before my birthday I had surgery with about a 40/60 chance I might see again. I was losing hope but never showed it. My body was weak from dialysis and now I was blind and didn't know how much more I could take. On April 25 my ****** **** came over to help set me up for dialysis, he left after getting me in bed and I cried my eyes out until I couldn't cry anymore. I finally broke down. Before falling asleep as I was praying I simple said "God, I can't do this anymore, I'm ready"..... I was awoken that night at about 3:30 a.m. with the phone call that they had a donor for my transplant. Just 2 years ago.. Wow.

I look back ( with 20/30 vision lol) on all that I've been through and I hold my little girl and tears fill my eyes at the thought of just how truly blessed I am to be where I am today. How much of a miracle it is that what seemed like the end, was only the beginning to much much greater things to come and yet to come. If you are reading this please never give up even when everything seems hopeless.

If reading that doesn't stegnthen your faith, want to put your name on a donor list and have an appreciation for modern medicine then Lord have mercy on your soul. I've been on the donor list for 24 years.

Yes, but I don't want to donate my eyes.

I also have a kidney, lung, and liver for the right price.
