My bedroom gets a lot of direct sunlight during the day and can be a bitch to cool off vs the rest of the house so I put a window unit in there. It feels like Winter at night because I like it cold as frick when I sleep.
I tried one of those portable A/C units so I wouldn't have the window unit hanging out but it sucked more dick than Paige in the parking lot on a first date.

Interesting, I've been running into this exact situation in my new house. There's an older portable unit in my family's storage unit that I have been meaning to try out.

I'd have to look. It's about 4 years old now and really about time to replace it. It just doesn't cool like it used to.
I have thought about installing a mini split unit in my bedroom and disconnecting my bedroom from my main unit. It would look better and last longer and it would be less stress on my main unit.

Nothing that cools you off in this heat is trashy. I hate window units with digital controls. Give me analog all day for some things.

The answer is yes. I look down on people who have window units. They are inferior to me. But, on the other hand, they are very cool and practical if you don't have central AC.
I had window units for over a decade and actually miss that cold arse air blowing directly on me at night.
