Most poor people who are obese fill up on cheap junk food. I knew a woman a few years back who complained about getting up to cook breakfast for her kids. She put Pop Tarts in the toaster and poured orange juice. Her kids and boyfriend were on the hefty side as was she. I offered to teach her to cook bacon and eggs but she said that she was concerned about cholesterol.

She probably doesn’t know any better, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what her GP told her. Also, cooking bacon seems pretty straightforward.

Obesity rates for regardless of socioeconomic status are out of control. America is so fricking fat it is embarrassing

I know. I'm seeing my friends and coworkers wives post their kids back to school pics and its unbelievable how many of those kids are obese. So sad. Like how do you not control what they're eating?

Definitely the first to have fast foo delivered.

I love opening up a delivery app and seeing fat food places like McDonalds ranked at the top of the most popular restaurants for delivery. Makes me feel really fit and healthy.

Normalization is powerful - for both good and bad behaviors.

If you grew up in an environment where there were smokers, that tobacco stick that one would light and suck smoke and blow it out of their nose…did not look stupid like it does to someone never around smoking. It was cigarettes and normal. Ridiculous looking to others.

Of course your diet is majority out of boxes, cans and cookie jars chased down with soft drinks and candy. Unless it is not. Fruit, vegetables, movement, water…people see Mountain Dew as poison, while others see it as holy water.

Look around you. That’s your normal.

Pick a side.

Zoom out.

We are the first to purposefully make people fat so massive corporations can profit off their slow miserable death.

And guess who's paying the tab? Everyone but the fat people.

I pity them to be honest. It took me 4 years, but I lost 85 pounds and have kept 75 of that off for 3 years now. Life is so much unbelievably better in every single aspect when you maintain a healthy weight and moderate exercise routine.

Being fat is like being a drug addict. It’s usually due to childhood ignorance or trauma and you don’t even realize how shitty and stupid your life was until you get sober and occasionally you forget and relapse and moving forward is about shortening the actual relapse and lengthening the time between them.

So you hate someone that's 5-10 lbs overweight?

And the reasons for “food” addiction are downright f’ed up. It’s one thing to sell more beer by offering free salty nuts. It’s another to engineer food products in labs to be as addictive, unhealthy, and unsatiating as possible.

It’s amazing how poorly doctors are educated in lipidology, and the ancient outdated dogma remains pervasive.

Yes she should be concerned about blood cholesterol. As a marker for CVD because I’m sure her triglycerides are sky high and she’s insulin resistant.

If he hates fat people then he has no “loved ones” who are fat

It cracks me up that “fighting hunger” is still a cause in the US. “50% of kids are food insecure” or some such nonsense statistic.

Our country is so prosperous that our poor people are obese and our minorities have to fake being oppressed

No. The Egyptians reached a level of prosperity where obesity was common and they were promptly conquered.
