The big guy on bass is Chas Chandler, who later became a talent manager and discovered Jimi Hendrix

Interesting story about The Animals. "House of The Rising Sun" is a folk song of unknown authorship. However if you put your name on a song like that as "arranger" you can still collect songwriting royalties.

The Animals were going to release "HOTRS" as a single credited to arrangers Alan Price (organ) and Hilton Valentine (lead guitar). However TPTB decided that "there wasn't enough room on the label" for both names, and Valentine's name was left off. As a result, Price got all songwriting royalties.

I wonder how much money that decision has cost Valentine through the years... $500K? $1M?

I'd say Alan Price is at least $500K hotter than Hilton Valentine

They were exceeded only by the Stones and Beatles in their day.

I just recently "rediscovered" the Animals. They were great and Eric Burdon definitely had one of the best all time rock voices.

Eta: as for your original question I have no clue. The standards of hot seem to be much different when applied to male rockers. Dudes who wouldn't get a second look if not rock stars can slay whatever the want.
