On second thought...

Don't go to cook-outs. I hate cook-outs man. Stay away from cook-outs, if you're like me stay away. I don't like my family come by the house, with the relatives I ain't seen since the last cook-out.

You got certain relatives you just see at the cook-out. And they get on your frickin nerves every year. My uncle Gus come by the house every year. My uncle Gus is the uncle that likes to work the grill. And don't let nobody touch the grill when he's around and shite.

As soon as he walks in the house its like: "Get away from that grill you dunna know how to start a fire"
"You dunna start no fire, put this fire out. This ain't no fire goddamnit."
"JPinLondon go over there get all of that wood I need half a tree. Chop that tree. Chop down that tree and give me the wood."
"And Charlie go get me gallons of gasoline out the shed."
"Two gallons of gasoline, you kids roll up your shirt we're gonna start a fire."
"Come on, you wanna eat? You wanna eat? Then shut up and put it on the fire."
"O.k. put that wood on the side there. O.k. gimme the gasoline Charlie."
"Hold the match, when I tell you throw the match on the gasoline all right?"
"When I tell you right? We gonna make a fire.

We gonna eat.

"Here we go pour the gasoline on like this."
"We need the hole ...get that goddamn lighter fluid out of here we can't use that shite."
"Using all the gallons gasoline on this wood."
"And make a fire, we're gonna eat a hamburger o.k.?"
"Here we go, Charlie throw the match."
"NOW THAT"S A FIRE!"
"That's a fire, look at that, look at that."
"He be alright, roll Charlie 'round, roll him around."

They come down my street once in a while. My son bought a SpongeBob (I think?) ice cream pop a few weeks ago. Too bad they don't sell WWE ice cream bars anymore

Anyone here remember the old Jolly Roger truck that would cruise the neighborhoods in the summertime?
Guy sold soft serve ice cream out of a large vehicle that looked like the 30 foot Winnebagos of today. Of course, this was in the late 60's/early 70's. Guy would ring a big bell as he cruised along. Good stuff, good memories.

We have an "ice cream Lady," but she drives fast. There's no time to go inside for money when you hear the song. You better have the cash on you or she will fly by in a wink. My son likes the character Popsicles like TMNT or superheroes.

ETA: we pay $5 for character popsicles

So they sell ice cream in winter too?

The ones that come to our neighborhood do. They were riding around a couple times in January and February.

When I was a kid we ha a nice older lady who drove one for 10 or more years. We kids love that lady and looked forward to her making the rounds every summer.

I’ve seen a few over the past 10 years come by and they are trashy as fck

There is one that passes around my neighborhood during the summer. On a regular basis. All it takes is for one kid to stop and buy something and next thing you know, there is a crowd buying something.

During the other parts of the year, if it's a nice day (kinda warm) outside he will come around.

One time I seen him in another part of town on the Fourth of July. He was stopped at a house that was having a party and he hit jackpot. There was a line.. of about 12-15 people and it looked like there were more people making their way to the truck. I am sure that wasn't the only spot where a party was going on, kids were swimming, etc that he stopped at.

Also, I think the dude who drives it has a little system in terms of getting people outside. My neighborhood, which is two blocks, is off a highway then next to my neighborhood, there is another one, which is four streets (each street is like one block), then there is another neighborhood at the end of the street. I noticed that he will turn into my neighborhood, from the highway, make a pass around the two blocks, then go through start going slow down the middle of the road and through the neighborhood.

It's like he make sure everyone hears the ice cream truck so they can get ready when he comes back around.
