There’s one on Grand Isle that rolls through blaring as late as midnight. I don’t think bomber pops are all he’s selling.

I drove an ice cream truck as a summer job at one point in high school. That truck was a money maker in the poor neighborhoods. Didn't even put my foot on the gas pedal...just put it in drive and idled along. Ten kids would come running out of some of the poorest homes. I came across a "construction" site at some point with a bunch of bros with machetes and other sharp tools clearing the lot. My best friend was along for the route that day. I got robbed at machete point by at least eight guys. They jumped in the truck door, grabbed the cash box....money flying everywhere. I gunned it and sent them to the pavement. Headed back to the owner's shop and quit the moment I pulled in the lot. Scary day.
On a side note, I saw some strange looking folks along my route.

shite, it was like 50F tops a few Saturdays ago with an ice cream patrolling the neighborhood while I took care of some yardwork.

One started rolling through our neighborhood last year. the kids can't hear you ask them to put their shoes on 5 times when you're standing 3 feet away from them but barely audible ice cream truck music from a mile and a half away? its a damn stampede to me for money and then down the street to meet other kids to search the truck down like a pack of hyenas.

My uncle's camp is down a street that doesn't get any traffic, there is a street next to it that is high traffic. That ice cream man was passing on the next street around 7pm. We were all drunk, me and my lil brother took off running to catch him. Had to run through 4 foot tall briars to get there. The fricking ice cream man barely had any ice cream left.
I should have asked him for some dope.
