Are there any good student housing complexes around LSU?

My kid wants to return to LA for their sophomore year and apparently few upperclassmen get apartments on campus. And the dorms are out for anyone but freshmen. I've read the reviews of many of these places and while they may look nice the reviews suggest they are pretty crappy. The Lark apparently has had 2 homicides in it since 2020. Any recs?

Depending on a roommate situation, I would rent a small house.

That’s all? Sounds like the safest option then

Mine live at The Venue right at the N gates behind the music building. No issues so far…knock on wood.

Fills up in 10 minutes when it opens up for registration. Good luck.

You'd be safer at the Ukraine front.

Rent a home or a townhouse that is owned by one person. The big apt complexes all have issues. Join the fb group lsu parents and students. There is always people on there talking about where to live or what places to stay far away from. There is sometimes other students looking for roommates or people renting out their homes.

So different from when I was there. I never thought I would have had to move my daughter off campus her 3rd semester. That’s what happens when LSU lets anybody with a pulse in.

No that’s what happens when LSU actually makes dorms desirable to live in unlike the dumps they were when I was there.

Well, both are true. The anyone with a pulse thing has been happening since the inception though. The new dorms are nice, and coed-ish. The chicks dorms have always been better.

Meh. There isn’t near enough on campus housing for even the Freshman. I know several Freshmen that had to live off campus because housing is full. LSU has fell way behind on infrastructure for the number of warm bodies they are letting in.
