Would love know what public school teachers are thinking right now. If I was a public school teacher, I'd be more concerned about racial/social unrest and being forced to teach an SJW-focused curriculum in the coming school year. However, I'd probably hide behind fear of covid rather than fess up to having racism concerns.

If you were a public school teacher you’d probably be right on board with the BLM agenda

Every single human on the planet earth is more scared of racism than anything else including covid, cancer, genital warts and satanic imagery.

I’m not scared of either, but if I had to pick one, it’s certainly racism/SJW wokeness bullshite. Not from the students.

Everyone in my cohort is reading White Fragility at the moment. I’ve already read it and told them I wasn’t reading it again. According to books such as that one, the decision to not read it again could be a crime of violent racism because I’m refusing to study the “experts” on what it means to be a white racist and how I can live my life as trying to be an anti-racist (though never succeeding).

That shite terrifies me.

My aunt has been teaching at Riverdale in Metairie for 20+ years and she said kids now are worse than ever. More willing to start fights with authority figures and all have phones out in case teacher retaliates. I’d imagine it would be way worse if they were back in school full time this fall.

A year long vacation on the taxpayers back is the dream of teachers unions all over the land.

Los Angeles teachers union threatened to strike if the city didn't "defund police."

Half the kids in that city are functionally illiterate, just fire them.

When I taught 5th grade in Gonzales, they wanted me to teach a huge lesson on slavery. I just laughed and taught about who sold the first slaves- blacks sold blacks. The school was not happy.

This is the exact reason I asked the question. I have 3 family members and 2 friends who are in the public system. Two have been assaulted by kids in the past and all 5 have had issues with kids who cannot respect authority.

Also have 2 close friends in the private system who do not want to go back.

More nervous about being accused of being a racist since I’m a white man with a southern accent in a school that is 95% black.

I have no doubt that some teachers are that way. However, mine were amazing. FOUR of my teachers (some high school, some elementary) came to my dad's funeral to support me and my sister.

Not all teachers are lazy.

Public school teachers and admin are now mostly women. In my day the there were a lot of male teachers and the principal was a real baw. You stepped out of line and you got your arse whipped. Now the whole system is run by Karens.

They are afraid of whatever Facebook and CNN tells them to be afraid of.

I am more concerned about the BLM agenda than covid by far.
It's always been bad and this time it will be way over the top.

99 percent of my colleagues disagree however. They just follow along like enlightened progressives.
