I know my wife was essentially bed-ridden (no pun) for a few days when she was 12 due to her cramps being so bad. She was put on BC and can go about her life as if nothing is happening down there.

Opinion: BC should be available to everyone for a very low cost regardless of insurance so we don't end up with these 16 year old mom shows on MTV.

Helps lighten their periods and related symptoms as well.

And you do it just in case. That is the age they start to do the dirty.

We would never prevent that. No offense but that seems way too stringent.
I'm pretty sure if she wanted to go to a party and there was plenty of jock BBC attending some dads here would rather die before they let there little princess attend.

That is just praying for a late bloomer that lacks self-confidence until college.
Raising a kid with class and dignity is "praying for a late bloomer that lacks confidence"?

Of all the things liberals get revved up about these days, I cannot figure out how this was not right at the top of the list.

It blows my mind.

It's not like it's an easy decision but you cannot make your daughter a social hermit just because you are concerned about all the peckers at the party.

That's just going way too far. She'll rebel over the top in college.

Sorry you're from a poor, trashy upbringing.

I went to a very prestigious Catholic League school in New Orleans. He's not wrong, and it has nothing to do with class or trashiness.

The difference is whether the parents put the kid on bc at the right time. By discouraging that now you're just asking for trouble later. I know more than one guy I graduated with that was a dad by 18 because the girl was off the pill.

I was a teenager within the last 10 years. Everybody is banging. Even the ugly band nerds were banging each other.

Exactly.

I went to a nice private school where no one got pregnant and had a 100% graduation rate and 95+% college rate.

The goody-good, nerdy, smart chicks were frickin at 16.

Its a different time.

Oh good. So as soon as she goes to college she can join a sorority and become some frat's doorknob. Every one will be getting a turn

That only goes so far. If you have a popular daughter she's going to get the pressure and simply being involved in extracurricular activities is not going to prevent opportunities from happening.

I wonder what the percaentages are of girls participating in academics, school functions, cheer from parents who stay engaged etc vs the girls who come from the opposite.

serious question, dont know the answer.

I and my girlfriends were in this boat. There are plenty of ways to find time. Hell, I didn't need too much time.

Not going to let her date. Will put a tracker on her cell phone and the app that sends all of her calls and text directly to my phone. This is what my cousin uses and he says it works beautifully. His daughter is different though so he has no worries.

I went to The Woodlands HS. Just because you're covering up your little girl's abortion that doesn't mean she's still a virgin to the public.

My sister was put on BC when she was 14.

It was because her periods were painful, long, and turned her into Godzilla.

He was a dad because he wasn't smart. Blaming it on the girl not being on the pill is a little off.

she'll just snapchat and you cant forward that. We do use the tracking function though. Mostly for safety purposes. I try not to monitor her every move.

We actually had this conversation with my teen daughter. I told her condoms were cheap and more effective.

I'm not gonna be the parent that allows you to drink with your buddies at my house. I'm not gonna be the parent that lets you have your prom date spend the night. I'm not gonna be the parent to come and get you when the cops pick you up.

My wife and I defeated pill birth control twice. Just because you're on it, doesn't mean that it will work. It condones sex IMO. The last thing I need is to be a grandparent (basically a parent).
