I don't see the need to disparage the fats here. I used to share the same sentiment as a non-obese person, but after some soul searching and deep reflection, I've reached the profound conclusion that Fat Lives Matter.

That would be correct IF "octopus" was a Latin word. However, it is a Greek word, thus the correct, but unused in English, plural is "Octopodes".
