Im working but a lot of customers we use across the country are closed today.

I usually take off and never get any grief for it, I'm only working this year because it's my escape from quarantine. Getting off at 3 though, the office has been closing at 3 but I normally stay until 5. Not happening today, no soliciting order in effect.

we used to to get Good Friday and Black Friday off as a paid holiday.
three years ago they changed it up and changed them from Holidays to work days. But they gave us an extra 16 hours in PTO. So im 100% ok with that

Been at my current office for a little under three years, they gave us off this year but it was the first time they have. No other place ever did.
I wouldn't say the majority up here are off but it's a decent amount, and a lot of people take the day off anyway. Just use a sick/personal day.

Unfortunately, most companies are moving away from the religious holidays based on political correctness
Should really just be you have some # of holidays off to use as per your own personal beliefs.

find it to be more of a tradition in high catholic areas, when I worked in north Mississippi, they laughed when I asked if we got off for Good Friday, same as when I worked for a national corporation
I work for a national corporation and we have Good Friday off.

The boss called me this morning and asked "are you at the office today?"
"Why wouldn't I be at the office?"
"I'm not. I'm at the camp in Mississippi. Its good Friday. Go home."
Sounds great, but I'm underwater with my workload right now.

I’m essential so our operation is 24/7/365.

Subtle Brag...
I’ve worked for 2 tens of billions/year companies- one Fortune 500, one based in Europe, but #1s closest competitor and both were always off (paid) on Good Friday.

Yes. It’s a holiday.

I knew it must be a holiday when I saw this Trump tweet yesterday.
