Just saw him in a news segment talking about auto sears. Real question is where do I get one?

There is no such thing as a class III license.
What you might be referring to is a SOT.

Yeah I know it's against federal law, but apparently the feds don't care about the NFA violations here and aren't doing anything about it.
Feds have been busting arse in NOLA going after switches.
NOPD has been welcoming them in to help since they go through the federal system and not the local DA.

Had that discussion with both of them, and more than a few years ago I looked into it a little myself. By the time you bought the gun itself and incurred all the related expenses, there wasn't much of an option for less than $10,000 all in, and the stuff I really wanted was looking more like $25,000+.
Thats the thing, the only other expense is the $200 tax stamp.
You can setup a trust/LLC, but dont have to. Those costs are minor as well.
Its literally the cost of the gun, most of them are expensive because there are a limited number of transferrable machine guns. Unless laws are changed, what is out there is it, the inventory is what it is.
So its literally the cost of the gun+$200.

Is it just that glock switches don't fit nicely into the law? Did the DA forget that it's illegal for felons to possess any gun, not to mention kill people?
Sounds more of a case of the state making an excuse for their ineffectiveness during this increased crime environment.

Doing it legally requires a lot of government red tape and a lot of expense.
I think the Federal "tax" is between 2.5K and 5K, so not cheap.
Anybody been to Knob Creek? I think covid was the end of it but the best place to shoot I am aware of.

Louisiana law says that the weapon must be able to fire either 7 or 8 rounds (don't remember which) with one pull of the trigger. It doesn't make a lot since the way it is. They are trying to make it align with federal law.

How did you find that picture of me?

What makes Hillar think creating a new law will convince the ferals shooting themselves and others to have second thoughts about being a shitbag?
Must be the democratic politician in him.
The truth is these dumb f**ks won't stop being shitbags until they're no longer breathing.

This sounds cheap, seems like 20 years ago it was much higher?
Did the cost go down that much?
OR
Is the gun limited at the $200 dollar level?
Seems the Baw I knew had to pay hefty for his .50 cal machine gun from the Korea era back in the mid 80's and big part was the tax stamp.

Its been $200 since 1934. Its either $200 for several items or $5 for any other weapon.

The cost of the tax has not changed.

No, would be $200 for a short barreled full auto m16.

He could have paid someone else to do all the paperwork(got ripped off), but it is what it is.

Good to know, thanks!
For folks who have never been, Knob Creek is just down the road from some of my kin. If you like to shoot big guns, this is your DisneyLand.

I am against the average street thug illegally modifying a Glock with a $20 3 d printed part. They can't hit shite as it is, having them able to spray 30 rounds downrange in 3 seconds isn't the best idea.
Should we be able to legally buy and own them? 100% But I am also for prosecuting illegal ownership.
No law is going to stop the criminals.

They're already illegal under federal law. Don't know why he wants the state of LA to incur the costs of prosecution and imprisonment when the feds are willing to do it for him.
