I bought a bunch of LED's at the dollar store. You should have only spent 66 dollars, lol!

I hope the LED's last longer than those cotton pickn fluorescent twist bulb things. Im my house for some reason those were only lasting a few months and they cost way more than incandescent bulbs.

i get nervous tics to this day when i go into a restaurant or store and see the twisties. i have to suppress the urge to smash the frickers.

flourescent

I will not argue with you any longer because you clearly do not have a clue what you are talking about. Both flourescent and led can run the spectrum from 2200k to 6500k

I always write the date on led bulbs when I install them so I can keep up with them. I have had several start flickering after only a year.

my personal experience has been that way for the $1 utilitech bulbs, ge and philips that go on sale during holidays.

the cree, hues and ge link bulbs have all been great however but remember, this is an evolving process much like how far LED tvs have come.

the longer you wait, the better the LED lights will become at simulating natural light.

i personally love tunable lights such as OSRAM, HUE and a few others that can change color temp as needed.

sure most are gimmicks, but the READ, ENERGIZE, DIM and NIGHTLIGHT modes are legit

Cree rushed to the market with an inferior product. It wouldn't have been my strategy, however it did work for them in that they partnered with the home centers early on and were able to build some brand recognition. However, in terms of both efficiency and efficacy, they tend to be far behind some other players.

What kind of rectangle fluorescents are you talking about? Post a pic and I can steer you right

My house is only 2100 sq ft and I have 65. 22 just in kitchen. Spent $600+ on led last year when we built. Worth every penny not to be able to warm food up under heat lamps every time switches are turned on!

LINK it says commercial, but I put them in houses all the time. Will give you better light output, with a smaller, sleeker fixtures. I put the 2' version in closets and attics, 4' in laundry rooms and garages

The best way to go is air tight led trims. They save you on the wattage as well as losing less a/c through the recessed trims

best things I own

Those Maytags are built like battleships and are still like brand new and will easily last another 30 years.

Need to get the new LG smart hub and update those appliances to LG so they can be part of your ecosystem.

I just replaced 12 recessed light bulbs with the Ecosmart 65w replacement daylight color bulbs from Home Depot. Think I spent about $40 and am satisfied so far. I have a mixture of that, GE, and a couple Phillips.

Every one of my can lights in my old house were regular bulbs and I was forever changing them with one of those pole gadgets.

My new house I went led. Been here for 1.5 years and haven't changed one yet. Not enough time though.
