Always heard that Lucas oil products were legit, but your run-of-the-mill STP fuel injector cleanser/fuel additives, etc. we’re just a waste of money.
What do the mechanics of the OT say?

Lucas is garbage.
Chemtool with a full tank of techron and then run extremely hard will help clean deposits.

Yes, a complete waste of money.
Most unleaded fuel has additives that clean on their own.

I’ve never used additives and get 200K miles out of my vehicles before selling them off.

This.
Additives are only helpful for vehicles that you drive/use once in awhile or aren’t really suitable for ethanol mixed gas like lawn mowers, ATVs and boats

Run Chevron gas with Techron.
No aftermarket additives will likely ever be needed, unless you idle a lot.
Also, never ever, flush a transmission.

Your gasoline has a detergent additive in it already, mandated by the Clean Air Act.
