If a tree fell on you in the forest, would Taysom Hill chop it up to free you?

Chad, with questions you ask like these, I wonder how you make it through the day sometimes.

Sound bounces off hard flat surfaces much more than soft dense surfaces. Carpets, thick curtains, book shelves with books, fabric sofas etc… absorb sound waves.

Technicians can measure sound waves and strategically place ‘sound boards’ and speakers to get insanely good acoustics without a lot of clutter in a space. Generally non professionals will kind of guess where to place stuff. They say you can hear the difference if you move a bookshelf or sofa around and find when it is in line with the sound waves.

A high school friend studied and worked in acoustics and I always found it interesting.

It may be louder but I know an empty hallway of the old country house Headley Grange made for one heck of a good drum sound on When The Levee Breaks.

On the Led Zeppelin song When The Levee Breaks John Bonham set up his drum set in a big empty hallway of that old house that was used for a recording studio and it made a pretty unique sound.
