Ours like to herd people and is very protective of the house. He doesn't like strangers and takes a while for him to warm up to new people. Once he does, he's fine.

Ours LIVES to go get a ball. I could throw a ball for him all day long.

Damn man. Sorry to hear that. Never had a problem with the invisible fence, they're usually pretty good.

My Aussie is 9 months old. Blue Merle tri. He is highly energetic and needs attention or will get it anyway he is able. Digging, eating the siding on our rent house, etc. Great dog and would buy another.

Not really. Whenever you say "Raise up lights", they go fetch you some razor blades.

A good reason to take advantage of that dog's youth. Bring her everywhere it's allowed. I brought my dog all over New Orleans as a pup. She went to countless bars and music festivals. Now, she's easy to toss into any kind of situation.

Aussie Shepards are a great breed. But it needs to be able to run miles every day. You definetly want as big of a backyard as possible. If you're in an apartment, I hope you're training for a marathon.

Good dogs. Very smart with a ton of energy. Very prone to separation anxiety though. My BIL has a mini Australian Shepherd and it has bad separation anxiety.

Great dogs. They are energetic dogs and like to have room to play. They are very intelligent and are very loyal to their owners. Mine loved to be with me anytime she could. They latch on to their favorite family member and will get anxious if separated from their owners for an extended period of time however.

My 9 month old Aussie just got ran over the other night. His wireless collar went out. Im still not over that. I will get another one when I put a real fence and not an invisible one up. They are excellent dogs.

Strange, I trained mine with the collar. After a few months he didn't need it anymore, wouldn't go past the barrier even with it off.

I've never put mine on any kind of shock collar and the SOB knows our property line. He won't leave our yard even when chasing deer. Damnedest thing I've ever seen.

The vet stressed socializing the dog early and often. They said that anti social behavior is a common trait for the breed.
