It’s overpriced garbage. So yes trashy.
Non-trashy people get Razer gaming laptops.

Build your own.
It will be better and less expensive.

He's better off getting a Mac. Much better machine for the same price or cheaper.

Your son just wants to download porn at an incredibly high speed. Let the boy watch.

They aren’t worth the money and haven’t been worth the money since they were bought and no longer an independent entity.
It is like buying a BMW now.
Expensive, supposed to be top of the line, but you are really just buying the brand name and paying way more than you should for the product.
Scruffy had one of their desktops back in 2004.
They were bought by Dell in 2006.

Are there websites where you can do this at? I really don't know much about laptops

Odd choice of BMW, they own they are not owned and still very much in the top mix of every category they traditionally have been excellent at.

BMW is the “luxury” car for 30thousandaires

He doesn't need something that expensive to play Fortnite.

Put it better than Scruffy could.

All gaming "craptops" are trash.
Non-trashy people build their own desktop gaming rigs.

If he wants something for gaming, a laptop is not the way to go.
Buy the parts and build a pc with him, anyone can do it. You can go in the gaming board and tell them what game he plays and what your budget is.
They will tell you exactly what parts to buy to get the most bang for your buck

If he wants a gaming laptop, check out Sager at Xotic PC. It's not a name brand, but they make a great product without all the flashing lights. You'll also save several hundred and get the same specs. I'm on my second Sager, the first one lasted 5 years before it was outdated.
But a gaming desktop is much better.

LINK / This is a really good site for building your own computer. It also links to where you can find those parts on sale or discounted. Be prepared to do some research --- there's a lot to go through.
Edit-the site is pcpartpicker.com. I didn't realize it would come out a blind link.

They're not worth the money, but this won't happen.
