I'd build some sort of perimeter defense system against snakes if I lived out there. Not sure what it would be, but I'd have to do something.

I wouldn't want a fence, maybe someone smarter than me could think of something clever to keep snakes away. Maybe a short (like 3 ft) adobe wall of some sort. Would that work?

That house is badass though. Except for the stupid square boulder steps.

Or instead of Adobe you could use rammed earth material. It seems to be the go to in the desert from what i read...

uhh..i hate to break it to you this but the hill behind my house which is maybe 10 miles from you has the nickname "rattlesnake ridge".

you dont have to go to AZ to be afraid. luckily i have snakekillers 1 and 2 who routinely go outside every day and clear the property.

there's a reason they get ribeye scraps.

eta just an FYI if you decide to forsake big city living and mosey down to franklin.

Ya this isn’t true when talking about a home in the Sonoran Desert

FWIW southeastern Black Snakes can climb trees. And they do. We had a tree fall, and it damaged other trees. One of the limbs that had to be removed was 25 feet up in the air, and the arborist cut a snake sort of in half, the snake that was living in the hollow of that large limb. We didn't help it get there; the arborists six year old son who came with him thought the wriggling bloody snake bits were the neatest thing he'd ever seen. Me? not so much.

I'm not reading that sh!t or this thread, but isn't this Tom Ford's house? The, "Not that there's anything wrong wit that," lifestyle type who rebuilt the House of Gucci back in the late 90's and then started doing artsy sh!t allover when he made a metric f*ckton of money and cashed out?

This is how you build a house to die in.

The house itself or some sorta psycho desert cannibal family or some sorta murdering drifter will get you.

If I'm going to live in something that looks like a bunker, it better be able to withstand a nuke blast.
