Mrs. Greengirl, I'm sorry; I need to treat you with more respect.

Not a problem. I mean, if you do want to show respect for my advanced age, I would appreciate it, but I knew when I started posting here that this place is not always given to fancy etiquette.

I know the general shtick here, pal. When in doubt, just carefully word a comment and sound snarky.

When you boil away all the b.s. though youre still left with the non-religious generally knowing more about christianity than christians. There have been numerous legit surveys on this. You can not argue it.

Everything Ive read about Muhammad is that he was actually pretty terrible. Was responsible for killing a bunch of people and having ridiculous amounts of kids. Sounds like a thug from ol Detroit or Nola to me.He would def be on welfare and food stamps. Jesus was a pretty swell guy, he just wanted people to love him because he loved everyone. The church today is so easy to laugh at bc of skewed messages. O and Christians (like myself) are suppose to rejoice when persecuted against, so enjoy the hate my brothers.

you left out the part where he banged a 9 year old girl.

First, are you talking to yourself?

Second, what's my shtick?

Third, I'm at Starbucks at Perkins Rowe, feel free to "argue" your point and prove to me you know more about my faith.

News flash the Hebrew Bible that we have today is the Masoretic text and dates to the 9th century AD. The Spetuagint is the Greek version is high influenced by non-Jewish thought, like Helenism. So the originals are lost and inerrancy only claims the originals were without error. There are tons of transmission errors in the Bible. They are known as variants.

Mack, after reading just a few of your posts, you seem like genuine douche. I'm pretty sure I can guess your age, income and sexual frequency pretty closely. But I'm sure you would not admit how close I was.

I have relatives who do. Smart, educated people, but it's been ingrained in them to believe it, in spite of the cognitive dissonance.

Exactly

I have many immediate family members who have advanced degrees and are extremely intelligent, but they don't really know a lick about Biology or Archaeology in general. They were just so ingrained into believing that people around them were experiencing some sort of special collective phenomenon because they went to church and claimed to talk to god--which really amounts to praying so hard that you or others finally convince yourself one way or another.

I'm not saying it's a bad lifestyle, nor do I disparage religious folk . I just think that the building your life around illogical stories and fantasies shouldn't be the reason you try to be a person with a high sense of morality.
