a six pack.
that just brought back memories, you had to fake a cough every time you opened a new one
Ha yeah I didn't even think about it from that angle, smuggling in beer. Same here. I can't remember the last time I smuggled in a six pack, maybe 2003? We probably all wore hoodies and hid them or something. I miss those days, very simple life. Have a couple beers in a theater on a saturday afternoon, maybe play nine holes, go to the bars around 10pm... I go to bed at 10pm these days.

Back in the day at my maw maw's country church, she would have a switch that was about as long as the pew to tap us or pop us grandkids if we didn't pay attention much less have a toy playing with it.
Young children need to be in the nursery. My church did have a portion at the beginning of the service where the preacher or children's minister would do a short lesson with all the kids of front and then they would dismiss to their classes (or nursery depending on age) during the service.
There were some funny answers the children would give that would always make the parents nervous sitting in the pews.

one of my ears is still lopsided from all of the silent pinches my mom would give me in church
Reminds me of one of my first "Oh shite this second kid is different from the first kid" moments.
When my little girl would start to squirm/make noise/act up in church a light pinch on the thigh would get her attention and quiet her down. Then my little boy came around, and the first time I deployed that tactic he let out a loud "WHY DID YOU PINCH ME!?!?!" and people 10 rows up laughed. Now if he gives up too much trouble he gets taken to the cry room

Does the priest get annoyed when he hears BOOMSHAKALAKA?
Nah, the Pizza Hut nostalgia has him digging in his robes for quarters and calling "I got ups"

Our priest disagrees. Kids dont learn how to act in church unless they're actually in church. Obviously a kid loosing its mind is one thing but a kid making regular kid noises is no big deal
