They prioritized H1B over US residents and was only fined $25M. Instead of boycotting bud light or target or whatever nonsense, you should boycott the true evil.

Americans of all walks are being priced out of the global labor market.

I was told multiple times from multiple sources that this isn’t happening.

Simple solution: raise the floor for starting H1B salaries to $120k which will keep companies from Re-staffing entire departments with H1B visa holders.

So they happen to be fined for no reason at all? Look at the Bay Area, might as well be China India border

They will just use offshore resources instead and not worry about the visa drama.

China is also being priced out of the global labor market.

This is any major tech company, not just Apple.

They claim they can’t get anyone to take the jobs they want OR that the foreigners are the only ones who have the skills they need in order to get the visas then hold the visa over the worker to keep them from bolting to a competitor.

Hence why they are called “tech coolies”.

Americans are more likely to tell the companies to frick off and jump to a competitor, which they don’t like.

I was told about 20+ years ago that if I were to work for a certain employer in that field, I would be working out of Silicon Valley and I would be one of the only white people there.

India wasn’t really as in play at that point but I believe they told me the workforce was heavily Chinese.

You're right and that will work in certain situations but some jobs require resources to be in the United States. Apple was one of those places and the H1B Visa holder in the US allowed them to undercut tech salaries.

H1B Visas are nothing more than tools used to suppress American wages. They should be outlawed.

Chinese and Indian immigrants sounds like an improvement over the rest of the whackos in that area. It was actually SF’s large Asian population that pushed out a lot of incumbents on the area’s school board because of all the crap they were doing during COVID.

I mostly agree. If you have 2 resumes and ones American and other is h1b both with comparable skills, you should be forced to hire the American

This is happening en masse at scores of big companies. The visa workers will do the job (a shitty job of it generally) for far less than Americans will. It looks better on the bottom line. If the accountants are calling the shots, this is the standard hiring practice.

Which would price more Americans out of the global market.
