This and I am one of those people. Most of the time I don't use it. The way I look at it that the more I can walk, the better I will do. BUT, some days I can't walk 100' without stopping to catch my breath.
The problem is that a lot of people have the tag for someone in there family. It piss me off to no end when I see these people use the HC spots when they DON'T have the HC person in the car.
I see that more often. Also, some people just park in these spots without a tag and yes, I give them shite. One day I will end up shot for that.

Because their great aunt Phyllis is disabled, and once a couple of years ago they picked her up and brought her to the doctors.
My mom has a tag for my grandma. She never parks in the spaces unless my grandma is in the car. Hell, it doesn't even hang on the mirror unless shes bringing her somewhere.

Pretty sure there are plenty of people who really don't deserve a tag that get them, but have you ever observed some of those that don't appear to be really handicapped. Most of the time they are about 150lbs over weight or look like their shopping trip is to pick up meth making supplies. Either case, they'll be truly disable, and worse soon enough.

I don't typically get bent out of shape about Handicap tag abuse. As long as there are plenty of spaces available for all people who need them (and their seems to be - for the most part), it doesn't bother me.
True that you do see lots of people who's handicap is obesity and some with ailments that aren't easily identified. I just assume they have a reason and move on with my life.

I used to have a problem with this until I ran into 2 OT 9.5s with their dogs flying to Houston last week.

When one gets a tag, they also get a state HC ID. Those temp tags are past around. It is not suppose to be hanging unless the HC person is in the car. Also, in my case, I have to have my doctor to fill out paperwork every two years just to say if I can drive. They pulled my driver lic twice in the last 5 years. Sucks, but I knew both times I shouldn't get behind the wheel. And I still know even with DL's when I shouldn't drive. Long trips, more then 30 miles, I never drive by myself. Sucks, but I never know. I couldn't live with myself if I passed out and killed someone at the wheel.

ok...and see, please excuse my ignorance...I thought the proximity from the parking spots to the door were for people who had problems walking. Didnt realize you could have any physical disorder and get one.

It sure is. It's amazing to walk through airports and see how many people use wheelchairs and golf carts and then how well they walk when it's time to get out of the chair and board the plane.

All these invisible disabilities put forward are bullshite. If a person can walk well they dam well should leave those parking spaces for the vets with real disabilities, etc.
Fact is many of those parked there that you see jump out and walk in business are family or friends of people that the tag belongs to, the very people that should want those spaces open for the disabled. Then there are those that have some bullshite excuse that a Dr. buys into and issues the tag. Hell, I inherited one. When my MIL died we had one that was still good for 2 more years.
