I've been to Puducherry India. Half that town is disgusting (Indian side.) the former French side is clean. Generally a smelly place in SE india. You can have it.

The Croatian Dalmatian coast, probably near Split, Croatia.

Croatia isn't as cheap as it used to be. Don't get me wrong, it's cheap as hell, but $1,500 would be tough. I have family in Zagreb. Every visit things get comparatively less cheap.
