Because he needs to validate his life by showing off and staying in hotel suites for 8 days when he already is $30K in debt.

Technically I don't have $30K in debt. Including that, I have a net worth around $150K.

I paid mine off in January. I've been trying to debt snowball my house now.

I have $30K of credit card debt, but my net worth is about $150K. I make $130K/year tax free. My expendable income is about 5K/month. And right now I'm posting from Washington D.C. - came for a karate tournament but made an 8 day vacation out of it. Add another grand or two to my debt for this month since I overspent and stayed in a suite at the Willard.

Holy shite.

You must be a flaming liberal with this kind of attitude about money.

Natural selection is going to deal with you soon enough and give you a nice Darwinism award.

No and and maybe I was being a little modest with my description of options but I laugh at people with mid grade decor packages that say "loaded!"

most of them are just accents or whatever. my trim is highest offered on the vehicle i bought. tech package is nice. lanesense, adaptive cruise control, parallel parks itself, etc.

If the dude makes $130K tax free then $30K in CC debt isn't beyond his means. Stupid maybe but not beyond his means if that's all he had. He also said he pays nearly $800 per month on a 72 month car note though and it makes me wonder how much house note and everything else he has.

But you just said:

I don't care how much you have in the bank or how much you make. You just said you owe $30K in credit card debt. Anyone who owes that much, making what you supposedly make, is fricking stupid. Not hyperbole, there's no way around it. You are a complete financial retard.

Net worth is assets owned, less liabilities. With that kind of net worth that he is stating, he owns a big asset (house), with no offsetting debt.

Or it could be a big house with lots of equity that he still has a lien against.

I just can't figure out where the rest of his money is going that he can justify paying the interest on 30k. why not just cut corners for a couple of months and get out of that debt, and then not have to worry about the CC debt, or the interest tied to it.

If he makes $130K a year tax free, he shouldn't have any debt.

This is the type of person who wins millions in the lotto and is broke in 5 years. The type of person who has absolutely ZERO sense of money and what to do with it. I guarantee you that I, making a little over 1/3 of what moto does, will have more money than him in 20 years.

I had to have a truck. Wouldn't have minded getting a car or SUV if I worked/lived in the city. FWIW I think there's a chance I know you IRL.

Especially since he claims to have "expendable" income of 5K per month.

He probably pays the CC game and gets 1.9% introductory offers to transfer balances from one CC to another. I know a lot of people that do that shite and never pay anything off. It's nuts.

That's what I'm saying. If he makes $130K tax free, just pay the fricking credit card off and you're home free. But instead he's only adding to the debt by staying in suites.
