They had a very good two our block covering the N African theater of WWII.
I hadn't seen it before, and I thought it was very good.

The detail in this thread is overwhelming. Also, isn't it called American heroes Channel now

My Dad had a cousin who was badly wounded at Kasserine Pass and left for dead by the Germans. He was part of a Louisiana National Guard outfit that was mobilized shortly before the war. He later contracted malaria while on Sicily, which ended his war.

National Geographic had a good show on last night called Chain of Command. Following the story of a few of the higher ranking officers in a Marine brigade that redeployed to Afghanistan to train Afghan army troops after Taliban gained ground following US withdrawing troops.

Yes, it was renamed, and thus the reason I put quotation marks around the channel's name because I didn't know the new name.
The two shows went in depth on the Tobruk and El Alemein.
It really emphasized the role the Aussies played in holding Rommel out of Tobruk initially, and the role they played in helping the Brits at El Alemein.
It also had some good stuff about military intell and how both sides used it.

I lived the military channel. So I don't watch much. They aren't always good memories.

Yes, I saw the first episode on Tobruk, but, not the second one on El Alamein.

More so for Rommel. It helped build his mystic as the Desert Fox.

Watched the Pacific episode before that one. Focused on Guadalcanal, Midway, New Guinea. Most of the WWII shows on AHC are very good.

Good, but I'd seen it previously, I hadn't seen the two N Aftica shows.
