You can rent your personal car out for money. If you wanted to know if an Audi R8 is for you, you can rent one for a few days and see how much you really like it.

Not many offerings in BR. I think I saw maybe 10 listings, but it is huge in Houston.

I've never rented my car, but I did rent one on a work trip to SF.

It was really easy to use and I would definitely use it in the future. The quality of cars available is much nicer than a rental place and not really much more in terms of cost (depending on what you get, of course).

The owner picked me up from the airport, drove me to my hotel, and then left me with the car. When it was time to return the car, I met them at a designated place and they drove me back to the airport. Very convenient.

Of course, it does depend on the city. Naturally, larger cities have a much better list of options than smaller ones.

Hertz, National, Alamo, etc are always right there at the airport. I walk right to the car I want and drive away. That's pretty easy and I don't have to worry about crashing or spilling a Gatorade in someones personal ride.

Theres a 2016 Model S for $199/day in Houston. He has 24 reviews.

Let's say it was an average of 2 days per rent, he made $9600.

I used it in Denver. Needed a 4WD or AWD vehicle and didn't want to pay out the arse for it with car rental companies from the airport. Plus, the car rental sites were confusing and most didn't note if the vehicle was at least AWD. I probably saved $40 a day through Turo, and got to pick what vehicle I wanted. The driver met me at the airport and had the car waiting near the baggage claim area. It was super easy and I'd recommend it to anybody.

It's fairly new, so you won't see much presence of it in smaller towns.

Doug Demuro is constantly mentioning it. Wouldn't surprise me if the app company pays him advertising money.

Not bad of a ROI for Doug either. Rent a car for $300. Make a youtube video and make thousands off of it in a matter of days.

I was checking it out for Sedona and there was a cool 1962 Corvette convertible for $373 a day.

I'd be too scared to wreck that.

Bentley for $473.

its a great app for a few specific use cases:

- you want to try out a specific vehicle you are considering buying without the bullshite from a dealer
- you want a fun car for a weekend or specific event
- you don't want the hassles of going the rental car route (you can pretty much choose where to meet to pick the car up, the price on the webpage is what you pay..no hidden fees, taxes, etc.)
- communication via the app 'instant messenger' keeps you and the renter on the same page
- you negotiate directly with the renter as to pickup and return time..you could end up keeping it longer than 24 hours without incurring any fees as long as you've both agreed to that ahead of time.
- you want a specific car for a specific purpose (you can grab a jeep for instance without going to some 'boutique' rental that charges out the arse)
- the app pre-screens you (runs your driver's license, etc) so you literally walk up to the guy and he hands you the keys and you're done.

first rental is $25/off but you may have to call them and ask for it if you don't get the email in time.

Have a BMW 7 series reserved in Atlanta for the masters. Heard the service is great, and it’s cheaper than renting a corolla from hertz

I can replace the Corvette (they built 14,531 of them).

They didn’t make 14,531 of me.

A ‘62 Corvette is not a preferred vehicle to wreck in from a safety standpoint.
