The thick and chewy crust of the late 70s early 80s was my favorite pizza crust. It went away when they came out with the pan pizza. I’ve looked online for a copycat recipe over the years with no luck.

Only thing missing was the arcade machines.

We had Pole Position and Arch Rivals in my childhood Pizza Hut.

Are these Pizza Huts that waited so long to update that they're now back in style again and look "retro"?

I was thinking the same thing. There's one in south Alabama I saw and stopped to eat with my mom a couple of years ago that was retro because it was just still there.

Must say though that the pizza wasn't that great. At first thought it was just I normally eat better pizza as an adult but I'm pretty sure that the vegetables on those pizzas used to be fresh instead of frozen when we were kids.

My dad and I went to Glacier NP a couple years ago and they had one near the park (I think it was Cut Bank). It was the same old school, nostalgic Pizza Hut we grew up with and loved.

I’d prefer a Shakey’s pizza throwback, much better pizza.

The OG bbq beef used to come in a little white bucket. I used to eat it all the time when I worked there but very few people ordered it. It was amazing

It was my go to pizza, until they quit selling it about 6 or 7 years ago. I've read some Florida locations still sell it and I keep hoping it makes a comeback in my area
