Yes.

If you don't need to tow regularly, get a big crossover like a Palisade or maybe the new Acadia or Pilot. Maybe even look at a Subaru Outback if you can get by with the smaller size - they are very reliable, easy to maintain, and get very good gas mileage. The CR-V is another excellent choice if you don't need to tow.

If you do need to tow, SUV's can get expensive because you are going to be looking at full sized truck-based models that can easily exceed $60,000. Things like the Tahoe, Suburban, Expedition, etc can tow as much as a half ton truck. I basically consider those trucks.

I did this exact thing in July. I just went to Lowes on Sunday and loaded the vehicle with everything I needed to build shelves in our baby room. It truly was one of our better decisions. I don't miss the truck one bit.

OP... frick everyone else's opinion and get the vehicle that best suits your needs.

It's your money. You earned it.

Traded in my truck for an SUV. While I like my current SUV, I never realized how many times I needed a truck bed for hauling until I didn't have one anymore. Will be looking back into a truck next time I'm back in the market for a new vehicle. "Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it".

Don’t get a mom mobile then, and that rules out full sized Chardonnay wagons like the navigator, Tahoe, etc.

F250 -> Explorer ST. Hated the front axle on the truck on the highway at high speed. I don’t have a boat or any of that other baw bullshite, and someone else can volunteer to dump crawfish shells in the gas station dumpster. If I need a trailer I can rent one cheap, but I don’t make a habit out of moving furniture regularly.

I drove my 250 like it was a heavy arse sports car anyway.

Yes, got rid of a tundra and opted for a 4runner. With the 4runner i can always roll down the back window and stick a 2x4 out the back if needed. Same with gas cans etc. just roll down the back window, airflow is much better with the rear glass down.

But if you spill that gas it's in your 4runner.

If I spill gas in my tacoma with a campershell it's not in my truck

Traded in my Silverado for a Tahoe.

Practically the same vehicle except now I can transport the family and we’re not all on top each other. If anything, T is up since all the mommy’s know I’m a family man.

Worth it.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like you need a brand new F250 Platinum with the high output 6.7L, a color-matched shell, and about a 4... no, a 6" lift.

If this is how you make decisions, your T is likely low already.

Yes. I trade in a F150 for an Explorer when I moved to Miami because trying to park a full size truck in Miami was a nightmare. Worst decision of my life

Wife already has an expedition , so we have one big vehicle for family vacations or transporting something if needed.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!! Just get a bed cover so you put all the kids stuff in the truck bed.
