Atlanta needs a second airport desperately. Delta and the politicians in Atlanta fight that every time it comes up.

One group was going to build a privately owned big airport in North Atlanta but the political forces were against.

I would LOVE if SWA had an alternative airport in the Atlanta market to ATL.

There's nowhere to put a second airport in Atlanta, were you born a gimp?

man, I feel for you...I avoid ATL at all costs. While it is not bad inside, I find the operations of the place to be the most disorganized airport I have ever been through. Every single time I fly through, there is some kind of organizational frickup that delays me. Last time, we landed on time and after sitting on the runway for a few minutes, the captain comes on and announces that an airplane is parked at our gate and that we have to sit there until they find someone to move it. 45 minutes later, we pulled into the gate. once again, this caused me to miss my connecting flight.

If BamaAtl or Decatur are stuck down there I will be happy to come down there and whip their asses to give you and the other luckless travelers some entertainment while you wait.

If you don't have a sky club membership go to concourse A, get hammered drunk and take the escalator to pf changs. Post up on one of the several full sized benches and wait for the morning flight. Nice quiet dark and out of the way. My delays at ATL seldom end on the same day.

Poors tip: If the benches are full hop the rail and snag a booth in the restaurant after it closes.

I'll be heading to LAX Thursday.

Just got back from SFO this evening. I never understand how flying is so exhausting, but I'm tired as hell now.

Ugh, I hate Hartsfield

I get to spend 5 hours there next week on a stopover for a connecting flight, what can you do there that kills 5 hours? They really need to build a titty bar in that airport and call it "the landing strip". (credit to Ray Wylie Hubbard for the nam)

Doesn't
Ever
Leave
The
Airport

I've lost many hours of my life in that airport. Once several hours because the Second Officer got sick just before we boarded. You can't throw a rock in that damn airport without hitting several dozen Delta uniforms with bars, why did it take them nearly 4 hours to get a fill-in. If it was any consolation, Senator Cassidy was sitting there cooling his heels with the plebes all that time.

A titty bar by the Austin airport took that inspiration and named their place The Landing Strip Club.

They actually have an amusing sign up right now since there's road construction. "We're WIDE OPEN during construction "

It is the world's, NOT America's, THE WORLD'S busiest airport. And there are less delays than at smaller airports like in Boston, NY, Philly, Chicago etc.

You are an idiot who doesn't travel much.

Harsh, but true - I've been through much worse - Fukuoka Japan today was a bit of a nightmare (although in their defense there was a typhoon up north that jacked up flights across Asia.....)

Not the weather, just I'm done with Delta and ATL in general. Sticking with AA & SEA when I can. Between work n leisure, fly about 12-15 times a yr...yesterday was the most SNAFU I've ever seen ATL.
