Anyone recommend a rental in Gulf Shores area?

We are thinking of taking our 2 year old there in August for a short trip. Probably have a day or two in New Orleans...She has a New Orleans book she loves and wants to go.
Any recommendations for VRBO type rentals in Gulf Shores area you've stayed at before?

I'm a big fan of the Phoenix complexes, especially Phoenix West. With a 2 year old you'll be able to go to the beach, enjoy the lazy river, or just take her to the pool.

I went last year for a bachelor party and stayed at one of the Phoenix's.

Beachfront or no?
Stayed at a very nice house, bayside, down Ft. Morgan Rd. it's in a lovely wooded area, two minutes from the beach in Bon Secours Wildlife Preserve. Great, quiet area.

If you married a Denham High graduate then I think we know each other...Saw her posting almost this exact same thing on FB last night.
I'll recommend here what I did there: Phoenix West or Phoenix West II.
ETA: If you want to stay in New Orleans, stay at Quarter House on Chartress. It's a block or so away from Bourbon but away from the hustle and bustle. Go past Acme Oyster House and grab a bite at Bourbon House for basic stuff, or get the stroller or Baby Bjorn out and head down to Muriel's for a nicer Dinner. Don't do Stanley's for breakfast. It's over-rated. Maspero's isn't bad for breakfast.
But Quarter House is perfect for a family with a young baby. If you're there on Saturday or Sunday Mornings, they normally have an expanded Continental Breakfast in the Courtyard and then a walking tour of the French Quarter that's free for guests that starts up around 9 or 10 I think.

How many days are you going to Gulfshores? If less than three days I don't recommend getting a condo. Just not worth it with cleaning fees, etc. Look at the very nice Perdido Beach Resort for something more like a condo, but better than just a standard hotel.
There is a pretty good Hampton Inn on the beach if you want a standard hotel.
If you do go with the condo route, the Phoenix properties are pretty basic places that are clean and affordable. Someone mentioned Phoenix West, but I think they only have 3 and 4 bedroom units.
As for N.O., man August is a rough month with the heat and humidity for a 2 year old to be out in the city. I guess a trip to the aquarium and insecturium would be nice for her.

Actually have connection to NFL kicker that has two condo's in Phoneix 7 and 10, might try to check those out. Yeah I'll have to get with the wife (no not from Denham) to see how long, it might be better just to stay in hotel.

Phoenix 10 is next door to the Flora-Bama. Nice and easy to walk over for a beer and bar grub when you need a break.

If you're going for a Hotel, check out the Holiday Inn in Orange Beach. We stayed an extra day before the rest of our family and used Points. Nice little dual-level pool with Hot-Tub and a super nice walk to the beach. Not a really populated area of the beach either. They have an expanded breakfast with a waffle/pancake maker that's a bit hit with the kids. It costs a bit more to get an Oceanside condo but it won't matter to be quite honest. You're also right near Tacky Jacks and some other stuff.

This. We stayed at the Perdido Beach Resort for 5 nights a few years ago. They had some special running about a month after spring break where you paid for 3 nights but got 5 nights. Our daughter had just turned 4, and it was a last minute trip we planned before I started this job. We have a policy that you can't take time off for 90 days and I was starting the last week of April, so we wanted to squeeze a beach trip in before the summer. The rooms are decent. The pool area is nice, and they have a little poolside food area where you can order sandwiches and burgers. Prices are reasonable too.

Just stayed at the Seacrest in April for our anniversary.
Good size condos with a great view. Owner was good to work with and a good price.
