Dammit last time I gave blood they were like how about we take like 3 liters of blood and take the good stuff and give you the plasma back? You look tough enough! Needless to say I went ahead with it.

My good stuff better not be going in you baws knees so you can keep playing tennis!!

I am not a fan of PRP. In residency I trained under some guys that used it a lot, and I never saw any real benefit. The medical journals are very inconclusive when it comes to the efficacy. To top it off, it is very expensive. I don't like to make broad generalizations, but the majority of physicians I know who use it regularly tend to be very aggressive billers, to put it nicely.

They use your own plasma, but I'll make a request for "Gaucho's good stuff"!

Warner Ortho in BR states on their website that it's $200-$400. I'm waiting for a call back to get an exact price, but my PT is not a fan of Warner

Most good studies demonstrate no difference over that of placebo.

That pretty much means it doesn't work.

That doesn't stop many people from doing it and charging for it.

As stated, insurance doesn't cover it. Because it doesn't appear to work.

This stuff has been around for a long time and for a long time nothing of benefit has been found.

But still some people want to get it done.

One thing that's always bothered me about the submariner's pin is that the dolphins are anatomically incorrect. Real dolphins don't have scales.

Warner called me back. They said because it's the shoulder, "which is a tough area", it's $500

Broyles? Seems like he just does it for knees

Went to him for my knees as well he suggested PRP injections. I tried rehab but nothing really helped. I plan on doing PRP eventually but honestly haven't gotten around to it. I know Broyles really likes it cause he had it done on his knees as well and said it really helped.
