I like them. The lady and I have spit-balled ideas about getting one of our own. I like the fact that you have to earn their love and they can be downright assholes at the drop of a hat.

Me too. Cats are easy.
We had a bunch in undergrad. Took in a stray. Knocked up. Kittens everywhere.
Straight up outdoor, gangster cats are fun. Literally all you have to do is leave food and water out and doctor them up when they get their arse kicked.
ETA: Watching cats hunt and kill is very entertaining.

My cat goes outside and does his business. And he kills lizards and other yard nuisances on the regular. He could survive on his own, if he had to.
