I'm wondering if I have permanently destroyed my taste buds. I have severe allergies and decided to take a 30 day supply of Zyrtec. It's been 7 days now since I've taken my last Zyrtec and I still can't taste or smell anything.

Is this a normal side effect or should I schedule an appointment with my ENT?

Thanks for the help

It fricked my mom up, too, for a few months. You’re senses will come back, Just don’t use it again! I can’t believe they’re still able to sell that shite.

I've always wondered how blind people talk to each other. Do they carry Braille notebooks or something?

I mean I've taken it in the past for a week or two and was fine but never for a month. That's why I'm nervous

I take Zyrtec and prescription Cingular at night and two sprays of Flonase in the morn. This was per my doctors orders and this is the best spring I have ever been through. No problems here

Never say never with side effects but I've never seen anyone with loss of taste on zyrtec personally. Cetirizine has been on the market since the mid 90s and has been OTC for at least a decade. Lots of things can cause a loss of smell, a viral infection being the most common. I would definitely see a local ENT for an evaluation.

I bet a K that he just wished he could go back to what he was doing. Lucky, no way.

I was at my prime and was forced into retirement due to my health. Just wish it would of never happen.

I've taken it every day for at least 10 years without any issue whatsoever.

It could be something else and you should get checked out.

Blind people can hear and talk to each other just fine.
