Great. Just got a flood advisory, so you know no work will happen for hours.

Between this and the roadwork I wish this whole area would just fall into a sinkhole..

Thank you. This thread solves the mystery for me because I was at K&D Hardware around 3:30 yesterday and had to take airline north from there.
All the traffic signals were out and it was quickly becoming a giant mess. I think I got out of there pretty smoothly though and made it home without any major delays.

They worked in pouring down rain all yesterday. I watched them do it. Even tried to offer tents but they declined.

A little heads up would’ve been nice.

A major transmission line fell two days ago. They have been rerouting us to a different substation as a temporary fix. I'm no expert but until that transmission line is fixed I think you can expect spotty service.

The fact that what we experience Thursday has caused this amount of chaos is so on par for Baton Rouge and Louisiana.

The rain was here ten mins. The wind wasn’t even tropical storm strength.

I hate this place. They also keep texting me that my power was restored at 1:53.

Heads up would be super fricking helpful since I just replaced everything in my fridge I threw away Thursday.

Baton Rouge is such a shithole.

You sure? I was at the office but everyone I spoke to said it felt like a 15 minute hurricane. It ripped a major transmission line out of concrete, it had to have packed something.

I work 2.8 miles from my house and it was such a non event the inside of my car was dry even though I left 2 windows down.

No I don't work for Entergy, just trying to be somewhat logical about a shitty situation. Major metal transmission lines don't just fall over on their own, something big is necessary to cause it. And when they go down, there's going to be pain points.

It didn't even rain at my office, but that's pretty inconsequential. It was a very small localized band.

Another crew has arrived to investigate the power that they’ve texted 3 times now has been on since 1:53.

Not fricking helping, Entergy. I do believe that means there’s not shot til maybe 10?

I’m getting to burn it all down stage with every new text.

Food did not help.

You are most welcome! Supposedly this may be a temporary fix and may have power come and go while they fix a "concrete pole that snapped due to wind" and that is a quote
