Another shooting too close to my home and neighborhood. This is why we are leaving Baton Rouge. Not safe from the hood at all anymore the entire city IS the hood. And I’m positive we don’t hear all of the crime happening in the news. Nothing that forming the city of St. George can do now for our area.

probably won't take long to find him if they haven't already.
He's on security cameras at the building where he parked.

Praying this is all.
That's good news. I thought I read he was critical condition somewhere.

eta: I see she updated the article from critical condition to 'non life-threatening'. that's good stuff.

I drove by at lunch and it looked like they were open. There was a news crew interviewing a lady out front.

At Coffee Bean ? !!!!! F, I used to go in and talk to the owner 3-4 times a week back in the day.
Vietnamese guy or did the original owner sell it? I worked there when it was next to the nail salon about 20 years ago.

How about the massive apartment complex being built just across Airline on Bluebonnet. Perfect to keep spreading hood town all through the burbs of BR.

BATON ROUGE - One person was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a shooting on Coursey Boulevard possibly stemming from an armed robbery. The shooting happened Thursday morning at Coffee Bean Cafe on Coursey Boulevard. The Baton Rouge Police Department said though it was early in the investigation, it was possible the shooting stemmed from an armed robbery. Officials said the one victim, an employee of the cafe, was in critical condition.

Shootings at 6:30 AM on Coursey.
Hilarious people still live in BR.
Enjoy your warzone.
You have to hand it to them for still being funny.

Yep. It looks nice now, but what will it look like in 20 years? There's also a huge one going up at Burbank and Bluebonnet

It’s going to keep encroaching into St George too. Anywhere that rentals or apartments are built. Nothing you can do. Just a matter of time. Some of the George is already hood over in the Burbank area, and then a few big apartment complexes are scattered around the George.

are those starting off for the trash?

I'm a little southeast of many of y'all from what I've read. Barely made it into SG but I just don't see how that's going to help this type of shite. Not anytime soon anyway. Whole thread is depressing. I'm to the point where I don't really want my wife going to that Winn Dixie by herself and that would've sounded crazy to me 10 years ago. I need to move up my moving out timeline I guess.
And as others have said, ALL apartments in suburban areas are fricking time bombs. There's no way around it. Idk who approves that shite, but whoever it is, frick them.

They are pretty expensive right now - like $1500 for a 1 BR, $1900 for a 2 BR.

I love our neighborhood, and it's convenient to most of BR, but the Sherwood/Coursey area certainly isn't what it used to be.
Then move

Oh she does too, but when I see the characters walking by it I question if it's a good idea. I never remembered homeless hanging out there, or at the Exxon, but it's like every time now.

The two complexes I was thinking about are those two (Bluebonnet/Jefferson and Bluebonnet/Burbank.) Also, there is a new huge complex at I12 and Millerville. Ticking timebombs
I go to the Winn Dixie regularly. I have never felt unsafe there. I really haven't seen any homeless at the Exxon station. Not being next to the interstate and hotels helps. I don't go to the other two gas stations at the Stumberg intersection. Not sure if they are sketchy. They are obviously closer to the crappy apartment complex so they probably get sketchy.

We live near Episcopal but as the crow flies it's 5k feet. I was outside one night and heard a shootout that sounded very close. It ended up being at Sherwood Acres. I grab lunch at that place occasionally when I'm working from home. They are nice and the food is good.
I was playing tennis at Forest Park a few weeks ago and I swear I heard at least 7 or 8 gunshots while I was out there.
