Is there a website to get packages cheaper? or a code?

Call them and tell them your going to switch to cable unless they will lower their prices. Worked for my uncle once.

Tell them you will give them the names of the people that have the magic cards.

I'm going to be a new customer again. Hoping there are ways to get packages cheaper

I cancelled and went to PlayStation Vue which I’ve been extremely happy with. Saving over $120/month. Only channel I don’t have that I miss is A&E for First 48 and now Live PD.
But to answer your question, after cancelling they were calling me and begging me to come back at ridiculously low prices.
ETA: in major markets Vue gives you all the networks so you can catch all the NFL nationally broadcast games. In smaller markets get a cheap antenna. Also has all CFB networks, FS1, etc. anywhere games will be.
Also, had Sunday Ticket with DTV. Just create a new email address and you can still get it.
ETA2: In conclusion cancel and sign up for a streaming service for a month. First month is free. If you’re happy, keep it. But DTV will be calling you nonstop begging.

Directv is garbage now.

No just the retention dept and if I recall its just a big pain in the arse trying to talk them down.

As others have said, call and threaten to cancel. When we moved we wouldn’t have been able to put a dish on the new house (HOA and trees). I want to say we got them down to something ridiculous like $10/month. They just wouldn’t take no for an answer.

CAll and threaten to cancel

Threatening to cancel doesn’t have the same effect it did before AT&T. You have to be prepared to actually terminate services if you don’t get what you want. It’s ludicrous what long-term customers pay for services. I’ve been telling myself “after football season” for several years now.

Call retention department. Ask them when your contact ends (even if you know or aren't in contract, play dumb) Tell them you see ads for new customers and were wondering if they have any offers for customer retention.
If they offer something, but you have to sign a new contract tell them that you just started a Hulu Live trial and it doesn't have a contact and you see going to see how you like it and call back.
They should throw something else at you. Something that may be worth a new contract. If not hang up and call back. In my experience I have the best luck speaking with a guy that sounds experienced. I can usually tell right away if they are gonna be able to do something. The women usually don't give a shite and call my bluff

Well shite give me a disclaimer next time I’m supposed to read the whole thread. Call and haggle. “Gosh I didn’t realize it would be this expensive, maybe I should hold off.”

Don't work anymore. Had cancel my service on July 30. They tripled my bill. I was like WTF even after 20+ years with them.
Haven't had a call back from them, so screw them.

Yep, this happened to me recently. I called to cancel Sunday Ticket because apparently it renews automatically and you have to call every year to cancel it. (That's so shitty on their part... Trying to take advantage of people hoping they won't notice.) They tell me they can't take it off of my account permanently, and I would have to call to cancel it every year. I tell them that is unacceptable and that I would like to terminate my services with DirecTV, unless they can lower my bill. They said that there were no promotional offers that they could offer and confirmed the cancellation of my service. They called my bluff
I am very glad they did because I'm tired of paying for a shitty product with terrible customer service. frick AT&T.

Went through the same thing last week. I just had $80 in monthly credits roll off the past few months so called to get my bill lowered. Best they would do is $15 off and free Showtime for 3 months. I followed through with canceling and will likely go with Hulu Plus.

Before ATT screwed things up it was easy. I called last year with the I’m gonna cancel if you don’t lower the price schtick, and they asked what day did I want service to terminate-lol. Good luck cause they DGAF!

I had the same experience with them a few weeks ago. Called to lower my bill, was transferred to loyalty department and all they offered was $5 off and a one time credit of $25.
