Yeah, that's the Hatcher Mountain Road area on the Knoxville side of 321 in Wears Valley.

That sucks.

It's extremely windy today/tonight here in Kentucky. We're supposed to get heavy rain this evening, looks like that system will be hitting the Knoxville area too. Hopefully that nips this in the bud. The fire that gutted Gatlinburg last time was awful. Went down a few months after....bald mountains and Gatlinburg half empty.

It's really windy here now... rain should be coming through overnight. If it doesn't put it out, we have a lot of rain forecast next week starting Tuesday, but that's a lot of time to burn.

Unfortunately tonight's rain is going to blow through pretty quickly.

WBIR's coverage has a map showing required evacuations. They say they'll keep it updated.
LINK

We are about thirty miles north of Wears Valley and a neighbor has been out working on his marksmanship. We worry that shooting into rocks could spark a problem. Maybe the burn we smell is coming that far.

Last week's heavy rainfall didn't happen it barely made it east of the Plateau. The freezes just added more dead plant material.

WATE.com has several stories as well, updating with general maps.

Yeah it’s still not looking good. 1000 acres burned, high winds in full force, and 0% contained.

I read one report (granted on Twitter) that tonight’s rain will move in and out quickly leaving the fire blazing. Next rain is forecasted for next Tuesday.

Definitely brings back some bad memories when the winds started to kick up today. The county EMS seems to have stayed on top of evacuations this time around so hopefully everyone has been able to make it out of those areas safely.

Very recent local weather had Sevierville getting much higher winds already than surrounding counties.
Smoke plume trending north (over us) and holding together going into eastern Kentucky.
They continue to enlarge the evacuation zone.

It's two miles west of Pigeon Forge and sort of square-ish.

And water dropping helicopters can't fly because of the winds now.

You guys stay safe. We haven't had wind gusts like this in a long time that I can remember. Unreal timing. I brought the flag and all of the plants in from the front porch a little bit ago due to how much it's picking up here in north knoxville. Praying for everyone over that way

The fire’s smoke is headed towards Sevierville, which is the direction I’d drive to get to Knoxville if we had to evacuate

You can't drive out through Townsend?

I read that the fire started because wind knocked over power lines which sparked the brush fire.

Two ways from Gatlinburg to Townsend. One is through the National Park and that road is closed due to high winds. The other road to Townsend goes straight through Wears Valley.
