There's an area near Tylertown, MS near a creek that's pretty fun. I took my famiky there twice when we used to have a hunting camp in Smithdale.

A fun hike is Black Creek Trail off Melvin Breland Rd near Wiggins, MS.

Riveted construction on these two rail cars indicate that they’re pre-WWII vintage and were deemed not worth salvaging.
Railroads in the South generally didn’t easily abandon rolling stock unless it was antiquated and/or irretrievable.

I've hiked it many times. It's a pretty strenuous hike, especially in the hot summer months. I highly recommend going in the fall/winter and making sure you have a map of the route. It is very easy to get off path and get lost. Absolutely stunning place and well worth the trip. Be sure to explore the abandoned train. It is such a cool experience.
Don't know if you're in the wrong thread, but it is not strenuous at all and impossible to get lost. Mothers carry babies and the elderly go up and down it all the time.
It's not near a big and "grand" as pics and video make it look.

If yo are looking for a day trip in Mississippi, I would skip red Bluff. May I recommend Illusions Woodville, MS.

Nope. Definitely in the right thread. There are multiple paths. Some way more difficult than others.
