My boss absolutely swears by it for mental health, physical health, weight control, etc. He eats as much as he wants between noon and 6 PM and doesn’t consume anything besides water or green tea during the remaining 18 hours. I grew up being told that it’s bad to eat a lot at once and that you should eat lightly throughout the day, which is obviously kind of the opposite idea. I think IF is an interesting concept and you can find science to back its benefits, although you can find science to back almost any idea if you look hard enough. Just wanted to see if anyone here has had any experience with it.

Been doing it for 7 years. Love it. I lost 30lbs using it (and many other measures), and still stick to it for general weight control and I like my focus better in the morning.

I’ve tried it out. It’s not too tough once you get into it for a few days as long as you don’t drink any alcohol. Don’t eat like a slob, though. You will not see any results that way. It’s a lot easier to eat less calories in a 6 hour window than if you are eating all day. I think that’s the main reason that it works for some people.

You can’t just eat whatever you want in the feeding window and get benefits from fasting. It doesn’t work that way and isn’t some magic diet.

Sorry, that part of my post was misleading. He’s not gorging on Mcdonalds during his eating window, he eats a generally pretty healthy, low-carb diet. He might consume 1200 calories at noon though, which is more than most people are typically having for lunch.

It is a good program and I agree with the benefits you mentioned. After a few days it is easy to get into.

Yes it works. Ideally you start out with a straight 72hr water fast. Once that’s complete you maintain a ketogenic WOE really focusing on maintaining net carbs <20g. Maintain a fasting focused lifestyle with an 18/6 intermittent fasting protocol will have the fat falling off your body.

Hang in there. Days 3-4 are the worst for me by far. Days 5-7 will be euphoric your mind will be completely clear and your energy levels through the roof. Make sure you are intaking some sodium, potassium, and magnesium with your water that may contribute to hunger feelings or lethargy.

Aside from caloric intake, one of the benefits of IF is long periods of time with no insulin spike from eating. Insulin blunts GH and T levels.

If you combine IF with weights (particularly squats) and a keto diet, you can really see the benefits of higher GH and T levels for long stretches of the day.

When do you introduce drinking your own piss?

Unfortunately it is not, a standard canes box combo is 1125 calories before the fatties slurp down a coke with it too
