If you don't need the third row, I'd look at the Edge Sport over the Explorer Sport. Just as fast and noticeably better MPG. I personally think it looks better too, and is also cheaper.
I concur. We liked the Edge much better than the Explorer when we test drove both, so we bought the Edge. We have 2 teenagers, and the Edge has been plenty big enough 95% of the time.

Either the Explorer or the Edge with the naturally aspirated 3.5l engine. Proven engine, proven drivetrain. Explorer will average 20-22 miles per gallon. Edge will be between 24-27.

I hated the old model explorers and found them unsafe. I rented one to drive in Tahoe last summer and absolutely loved it and now we are considering it for my wife’s mom car.

And if you do need a third row, then get a minivan.

I bought an Edge in 2007 when they first came out and really enjoyed it

I have an 18 Explorer. Like mentioned the gas take is tiny. Other than that I have no issues with the car. Comfortable, rides nice, quiet. Nice screen with Carplay.
Took it to atlanta for LSU OU Game. My brother said he may get same car soon because he liked it.

We had a 2015 Limited. As someone above said, the back up monitor went out. Also Explorers have a problem with the paint bubbling around the edges of the hood. Our did it but Ford refused to fix it. It is a known problem that they won't acknowledge.

Same here...did you contact Hankook or go through the dealer?

I have a '17 and the same thing with the hood paint. I never thought about having it replaced. Was it still under warranty when you had it replaced?

Can honestly say I had typed "the beach" but chuckled and thought naw I'll just go ahead and put 30A just to tick somebody off
