I had to google "PJ's". Is this something everyone knows because I never heard of them before now?

NatGeo had a whole series on them during a tour in Afghanistan

they, unlike the attention whoring seals, actually keep a lid on the chest beating and go about their (badass) bidness

A guy I went to highschool with made it through the first training class, but washed out in the 2nd. His parents put up signs in the yard celebrating the fact that their son was a SEAL. His parents brought it up frequently. He didn't because he was embarrassed for not finishing, but he was still a tough SOB. SEAL's are on a different level of tough SOB though.

Bad Mofo
Afghan in 13' had the PJ from the current Air Force commercial with us and he is one of the legit most badass dudes I have ever met. SEALS love themselves and their stories fwiw...

I fought one hundreds of times. He only won four of those fights. Of course he was my little brother and those four were the last four and all happened the same night after he got back from BUDS.

Went to LSU with a guy that later became a Seal. Had no clue at the time he had any interest in doing that, but he definitely is one. Pretty sure out of the 30,000 people that went to LSU during his 4 years, I'm not the only guy that knew him. I don't find it strange that several people here might know a Seal.

quote: Amazing how everyone on the OT is a Seal, was a Seal, or knows a Seal Kind of like how everyone knows someone in the Mob
So the number I've heard is roughly 5k SEALS (have no clue if that is true) let's just say there is anothe 5k former SEALS that still roughly averages out to 1 in about 35,000 people in America is a seal or formerly seal....
But yeah I'm sure most OTers know more than 35k people personally... I mean some know a couple SEALS really well... pffftt I mean why would anyone question some OT posters?!!

Yes, but I don't know how "badass" he is. I've never seen him in action before, but he's definitely a good kid and in great shape.

You took hyperbole and ran with it. As someone said, these people aren't mythical beasts. I find it odd that you can't accept the fact that they're not as rare as you think they are.

I don't know a seal. But I know a couple who have two sons who are both seals.
What are the odds?
Pretty good, actually. Thousands of people know them.
