FWIW, the ivermectin cream helps some. I used straight ivermectin a couple times and a blend with things which restrict blood vessels.
My dermatologist also put me on a low dose blood pressure med to help with flushing and I think that helped.
Mine kind of comes and goes so it’s hard to say what’s a magic bullet.

I used to deal with rosacea.. i never tried medication for it, the obvious thing that helped me was using sunscreen religiously (Neutrogena sensitive skin).. but the real game changer for me was cutting out aspartame .. that means NO Diet Coke, or Equal in the blue packet, or chewing gum etc.. all those things and more contain aspartame .. most people are fine with it, but for like 15-20% of the population, aspartame causes rosacea, migraines and worse .. it is basically a chemical shitstorm, ie poison for many people like myself .
Also trying to get good , quality sleep helps a lot .. otherwise, the lack of sleep and the resulting stress and overdrinking coffee makes my face flush .

My dermatologist was able to get mine to go away with doxycycline and a prescription face cream called Epsolay.

Bro, try having ocular rosacea and get back to me.
I mean I could try eliminating stress, coffee, booze, and spicy food, but what kind of life is that?

Unrefined African Shea butter. You can get it off of Amazon.

Clean up your diet. No processed foods, no seed oils, no soda, etc.
If you can go primarily carnivore + easily digestible fruits for a while that should give you a great chance to clean it up.

The ivermectin cream is crazy expensive.
Can use the vet liquid or paste. A lot cheaper. In theory at least.

Low dose doxycycline 50 mg a day. You’re welcome

Deoxycycline would clear if up. Daily use of clindamycin with benszol peroxide gel has keep me clear for over 5 years.

Nizoral is a good dandruff shampoo.
Can use this on red patches on face as well.

For years, I used to have spots of it on each side of my nose, between my eyebrows, and on my chin. I tried everything. Creams, dandruff shampoo, laser treatments, etc. My dermatologist ended up prescribing me two different creams to mix together, plus an anti-fungal cream of some sort. This helped some, but never really made it go completely away.
About four years ago, I decided to grow a beard for the first time in my life. After a few weeks of having the beard, I noticed the red spots were gone. When I went for my annual visit to the dermatologist, she was stunned. She had no explanation for why the beard would have made it go away. I had not used any of her prescribed stuff in months and still haven't used any more of it to date. The Dr is a family friend, and she had really tried hard to fix the problem. On that visit, she went and got her partners to come into the exam room. None of them could explain why stopping shaving would "cure" it. Other than the spot on my chin, I had not been shaving the problem areas.

That is a crazy story lol. Maybe shaving is what irritates your skin

That was the only thing the doctors could come up with, but I have never shaved the sides of my nose or between my eyebrows. I also never put shaving cream on those areas and was VERY careful to not get aftershave on those areas!

Maybe your skin was reacting to a shaving cream, but the reaction was in areas other than where it touched.
Google says “a skin outbreak as an allergic reaction to a chemical can occur in areas of the body other than where the chemical made direct contact.” “ This phenomenon is common in cases of allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) and is due to the immune system's response to the allergen, not the direct damage from the chemical itself.”

Was just diagnosed with Rosacea. My primary prescribed me Metronidazole cream, which is just making my face even more red. I'm using gentle facial cleansers and moisturizers while I wait to see a dermatologist. Have any of you had any success managing this? This is freaking awful
You might want to ask the dermatologist about laser treatments they might have available. I used to get super noticable red flushing in my cheeks and nose. I had V-beam done which is a pulse laser treatment that breaks up the blood vessels in your face that are below the surface of the skin (which is what causes the redness). It's used to treat rosacea in some cases. I had 3 treatments done (separated by a month in-between treatments). They numb you up so it doesn't really hurt, but there's a not insignificant amount of swelling for a few days and then bruising that'll last for a week or two after that. But the results for me were tremendous. I forget how much it cost, but it wasn't a life changing amount of money (maybe around $800 per treatment?). The results aren't permanent, but can last up to a decade. I had it done 5-6 years ago and the results are still the same (the better you take care of your skin and use sunscreen then the longer the results will last). Something to ask about.
