re: Anyone Here Had Success Treating Rosacea?

The best treatment or rosacea is metro gel and doxycycline. I have very severe seborrheic dermatitis which is sometimes misdiagnosed as roseacea. It is fairly well controlled for me with “z bar” soap and head and shoulders shampoo but it can take a course of diflucan and steroid creams to get it under control after it flares. Good luck. If it is truly roseacea your doc should have you on doxycycline in addition to the metro gel. Again, good luck. I know how stressful it can be to have a big frickin rash on your face. Also, I’d recommend you avoid oral steroids if you can. Doctors like to prescribe that shite but it’s not a permanent fix.

Nizoral is a good dandruff shampoo.

Ivermectin cream. Prescribed by your dermatologist.

Sorry to hear, I feel your pain. And yes, I've recently had great success dealing with it.
I went to a dermatologist a few months ago because I thought I might have skin cancer, or worse yet, liver issues. It took her about 5 seconds to recognize it was rosacea.
She put me on a prescription of Doxycycline. It's an antibiotic in capsule form and one of its side effects is it clears up skin. For dermatologists, the side effect is the cure. The dosage is low (50 mg, not enough to combat an infection) and I've been taking 1 capsule a day after dinner. My face and nose cleared up completely in about 2 weeks and has been fine since.
She also prescribed Metronidazole cream which I use most days but not every day. But it's really the Doxycycline that I believe made the difference. She said if I stopped taking it, there's a 50-50 chance it would come back, so for now I'll keep taking it.
Frankly I'm surprised your doctor didn't prescribe it. I'd make sure to raise the issue with your dermatologist when you see them. I hope this helps.

The doxycycline and ivermectin cream did me no good. The ivermectin cream is crazy expensive.

Are these prescriptions or OTC stuff I could pick up?

I googled about its effectiveness, and it said this:
"The effectiveness of doxycyclene for rosacea treatment is highly significant, with studies showing that approximately 75% of patients achieve treatment success after 12 weeks of use. This high efficacy rate is attributed to the medication's anti-inflammatory properties, which are particularly effective in reducing the redness and bumps associated with rosacea."

Is the ivermectin cream prescribed by your Dr?
Yes it’s prescription. It used to be $750 a tube but now it’s available in generic for like $50.

My wife, 56, tried everything listed here and more, for her rosacea. You name, we got it
She says the number one thing that helped her face was cutting out gluten.

Something else you can try for this is using a facial toner (glycolic acid 7%). The Ordinary (that’s the brand name) is a good one that’s cheap. It helps exfoliate your skin and will greatly reduce your skin peeling. It also minimizes your pores/reduces oil production. Use once daily at night since it can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Try it and see if it works well for you - some people can have a reaction to it so start slow. It’s helped me more than anything I’ve ever tried. If not, you can also rub it on your armpits and you won’t need to use deodorant anymore.

I dealt with this and went to my dermatologist and got put on Accutane over the last year. Spent about 7-8 months on it and my face never been clearer.
Battled horrible cystic acne and rosacea. All gone.

My sister has it, but she keeps it under control by doing the AIP diet, and taking some vitamins. Her fiancé doesn't seem to be bothered by the occasional flair up

This helps me, too. I cut gluten for a few years, then thought maybe it was bullshite and ate a plate of lasagna last year and had a horrible rash on my face for like 3 weeks afterward.
