Reminds me of the thread the other day about the basic weber grill. Have any douches come in here to say that a car 6 to 10 times more expensive is way better than the camry?

I work at a Toyota dealer and have seen so many of that era Camry traded in with well over 200k miles in perfect health that I don't even care about how many miles they have anymore. Genuinely some of the best cars ever made.

Last one I sold was a 2005 4cyl with 184k miles that was a total cream puff. Nicest $4k car ever.

I bought an 05 Silverado Z71 in high school with 174000 on it and sold it with 298000 on the original engine and transmission earlier this year when I bought my newer model.

When I decided to buy a commuter car I decided to get either a Camry or Accord. Wanted more of like an 07 or 08 style but could pass this one up at $2500.

Surprisingly, not that I've seen.

The cars seem to be universally respected.

Good cars. I kept mine until it had 250,000 miles. It needed new struts. I sold it to lady....needed a car to travel to her job. Keep up the maintenance on these Camrys' and they last for ages. I needed a MiniVan. A mechanic once told me he routinely got Camrys' in for routine maintenance with 350,000+ miles.

Good Luck!

Gave her a good wash and wax.

Looks damn good for a 97 model.

Damn good looking car for that age.

ETA: Why did they put that ugly front end on the brand new 2020 Camry?!?

My in laws have one. It’s an 01 I think, same body style. All the kids used it through high school and now it’s just an extra car. Thing is beat to hell, interior falling apart, but runs fine, over 300k miles. Tires, brake pads, oil changed is all it’s needed. Yes, absolutely bulletproof mechanically. FIL drove that thing as his commuter car to the plant for many many years.
