Leeches hit the ER every time they have a runny nose. Take the kid to the doctor. Why is this even in question?

Most "brown recluse" bites (or "spider bites" in general) are not spider bites at all. They are MRSA (methicillin resistant staph aureus)...a bad staph infection.

Regardless, see a doctor early so they can treat either appropriately.

Can anyone identify?

Found near my garage this morning. Thanks!

Can't tell from the picture. Recluses have fuzzy hairs on their legs and abdomen. Bands on their leg joints. If I had to guess, common house spider.

I got bit by one in high school, on my left leg. It blistered and the blistering started to crawl up my leg. My mom worked at a hospital and we went and saw the tropical medicine doc who gave me some sauve and that was about it. Lasted a few weeks then went away.

My house used to have brown recluse problem when we first moved in 11 years ago. Thankfully no one got bit and we've since pretty much eliminated them.

My dad got tagged by one but didn't realize what it was at first.

He went about 48 hours before going to a doctor. Nearly lost part of his foot. Took about a year to fully heal.
