Anyone have experience with stainless countertops?
I do. I've seen every episode of House Hunters because that's alwauys what is on my mom's TV when I visit her house. According to every count on that show, granite countertops are a must. Oh and an open floor plan too.

Back in the early 80's went to a state of LA. auction and bought a ss table that was used at the morgue in Angola - used it at my camp for fish cleaning - hurricane Issac reclaimed it for the dead.

Have you looked at Alkemi or recycled glass tops?

I swear that Zep stainless cleaner doesn't do any better than water, and it leaves a greasy film on everything afterwards
Stainless is a PITA on surfaces that don't get heavy use. Can't imagine how it would be on a countertop.
Do they use a different grade on counters?

I agree with you on the Zep. But ammonia diluted 1:4 am:water has worked well (and cheaply)
