This has been a very difficult 12 months, in December my wife was knocked down in a parking lot, she broke her wrist and had a serious concussion that took months to recover from.
Ida blew down a tree that virtually cut my house in half. Repairs are still ongoing, the claim will be close to $250K.
A few weeks ago, I stood up to go to bed, a medication I was taking made me dizzy and I fell. I broke 3 vertebrae in my neck, I spent a week in the hospital and now am confined to a chair and a hard cervical collar which is extremely uncomfortable, for at least 3 months. That means no cooking, eating out is difficult and of course, no driving.
Where is the uplifting part? My wife and I have been married over 50 years, we have been there for each other as well as many friends and relatives helping out. My outlook is positive, I can still do my work from my chair, the doc says could very easily been paralyzed and we have good insurance.
Little bumps in life are not going to set us back.

I've made a great discovery this week. Scratching poison ivy blisters is indeed better than sex.
Scratching poison ivy blisters under hot water feels amazing. I don’t recommend it, but it does feel amazing.

Working a hard RBF there too.

She is gazing at that phone, doing the math on buying dogfood or a year.

I can mark myself safe from monkeypox since I don't have sex with other men. So that's uplifting.
