My mom and stepfather took us on a to see Gilleys around 1984 iirc. I wasn’t a big fan but I am glad to see that JL Lewis and J Swaggart were all successful.

I moved out there to work on as an oilman with my uncle. He and my aunt took me to Gilley's the first night I was there. I would meet my wife there 2 nights later. My uncle died tragically but did teach me to ride a mechanical bull. I won the contest at Gilley's. Lots of memories. There was some fine tail up in there. Especially this Pam chick who had her daddy's money.

Real interesting documentary about Gilley’s I saw a while back. Evidently Urban Cowboy absolutely ruined the place.

I did, it was a lot of fun. fricked my hand up on the punching bag game. Had a friend almost end up in Starks, Louisiana because he passed out in the bed of the wrong pickup.

Passed by there when going on vacation with my parents, but never went in. Definitely sported the t shirt though.

Oh man, what was it called? I'd love to see it. A few years ago I found this journal online that the director kept during filming. It eluded to Debra Winger being a huge pain in the arse on and off the set.

It turned into a real shithole after the flick. I knew the owners daughter in High School. Sherwood was a prick, but his daughter hated him. A couple of the local liquor stores were named after her (Chery's I believe) so we hit em up regular for the booze and kegs. GD Pasadena sucks. It so very sucks. Haven't been there in 30 years.
