Shipping it 3-4 hours may be the dumbest thing ive ever heard. Why can't you get it yourself? The flight down and you driving it up would be so much cheaper.

Call a flatbed wrecker service and ask for a quote.
Go to a used car dealer and ask if they have a hauler who would do it.
Go talk to a rent a car place (Enterprse). They use team drivers to move their cars to other locations and they might put you in touch with a pair of team drivers to do it.
Call your local fire department. A couple of firemen would probably do it. They are always trying to get extra work for some money.

Any family members? This is a 5 hour drive tops. You can’t carve out a weekend for you and a friend to go on a road trip, have fun for a night, and then for your friend to drive the other car back?
Shipping a car should be 10 hours plus if it’s a single vehicle. I was thinking you bought a car in Europe or something.

Why don't you call and ask Mr. I Know How To Google
Posted on 11/1/17 at 9:49 pm to LSUSoulja08
The companies you see on Google are brokers that list your car for drivers to see. Most are shady and unreliable. Don't pay until your car is picked up. But if you don't care about the car and aren't in a hurry, just pick one.
He could just rent a tow dolly from uhaul for $50 drive it there.

i did it, price doesnt really change much for distance except fuel charges
paid $1200 to have a carolla shipped to oregan, $800 for hauling the car plus $400 fuel charge for mileage.
and thats the cheapest we could find, most haulers wanted between $1500-$2000 to do it plus fuel for mileage.
seriously, its way cheaper to hire an uber driver to drive it for you and i would trust an uber driver not to wreck it a lot more then i trust a transport truck not to dent it or scratch up the paint. you have to sign a paper saying no matter what happens to it they arent responsible. so if a thief steals your battery while they stop for food or if a hail storm takes out your windshield, and it rains they arent stopping to cover the broken windshield, what arrives is what you get.
ours arrived safe with no damage but signing those papers lets you know its a gamble and they know they arent responsible if anything happens to it. all they are obligated to do is get it from point "A" to point "B"

I’ve used Montway with good results before

I’ve shipped a couple. Miami to Raleigh and Dallas to Seattle. Try not to mess with a transport broker. (You’ll see a bunch online) ... Go directly through transport a company. Only reason is to avoid a shite ton of phone calls. Shouldn’t be hard to find a local company for that distance.

You know anybody with a trailer that you can trust?

Yep. When duty stations were so far apart it was more feasible.

Uship.com just avoid big company brokers. Look for that private owner with his own truck/s. I've used it from Baltimore and Nebraska

My retired neighbor does this. A team of oldsters drive cars all over LA and Arkansas for Enterprise on a daily basis for about $10 an hour. They are usually delivering "retired" rentals to dealers who put them on the used car lot.
Craigslist used to post a warning about car shipping scams. Apparently, many of those advertised are huge ripoffs. The big transport market is between the cold NE and warm Florida, for folks who summer down south.

has it been recommended to OP to take it up himself? Pay a friend to follow along in his Hyundai Sonata and drink beer on way back.
